Annoyingly Pragmatic Founder

Hi I’m Josh Ho, a developer turned SaaS founder CEO.

I believe building a business isn’t that different from building software, except for the fact that people don’t behave quite as predictably as computers…. other then than it’s totally the same, right?  ; )

I write about what I’ve experienced and rant my own opinions. If I can at help a few people accelerate their startup learnings and avoid some of my mistakes, I’ll be a happy camper.

Most of my recent writing is on twitter using the often hated upon “threads”. I’m also the co-host of a podcast Searching for SaaS (easy to find in players or click the link to find an easy subscribe button)

I can be found on Twitter: @jlogic with open DMs but will pay more attentions to mentions if we don’t follow each other

Subscribe if you want to be sent new articles
(but honestly I don't spend too much time here but aspire to)

Some things I've "found"

Referral Rock (current) – B2B Marketing SaaS

  • Self-funded / Bootstrapped
  • Started as the self-service lifestyle business >> inside sales >> PLG
  • Profitable and Growing ~50% a year
  • Fully remote U.S. based team of 15+

UberNote – A online notes software started in 2006 and ultimately shut down.

  • Web 2.0 Web App
  • Incubator / Funding 2009
  • Missed opportunity and bad timing
  • Personal Lesson: Consumers don’t pay for software (at least not in 2010)

Being able to pick up on context and nuance of decisions, challenges, what worked, what didn’t… is great. The conversation ones are the best with a blend of a great host who structures the story, yet lets the organic wandering happen. Listening to others allows me to time shift
